Barbara Jean (Wire) Stewart "Jeannie"

Barbara Jean (Wire) Stewart “Jeannie”, 82, of Kokomo, passed away at 5:05 pm, on Saturday, June 3, 2023, at Bethlehem Woods in Fort Wayne Indiana. She was born to the late Forest Wire and Bessie (Powell) Wire, on October 15, 1940, in Burlington, In. Jeannie married the love of her life Frank Stewart in Kokomo, Indiana, on December 12, 1959, who preceded her in death in 2012.

Jeannie had worked at the Markland Mall Theaters for several years. In her free time she enjoyed playing cards and bingo with her friends, watching old westerns on TV, and spending time socializing with all of her friends. Jeannie never met a stranger and had a gift for making others smile.

Surviving Jeannie include a sister; Diane Jones of Churubusco, In, brother; Johnnie (Bernie) Wire of Clearwater, Florida, Sister in laws; Lynn Wire of Lebanon, In, and Rosemary Wire of Kokomo, In, and by many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.

Jeannie was preceded in death by a sister; Cheryl Redman, and brothers; Larry Wire, and Ronnie Wire.

Jeannie lived in Bethlehem Woods Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, in Fort Wayne for nearly 12 years, where her sister Diane, brother in law Eddie, and niece RayeAnn, cared for her throughout her journey.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday June 10, 2023, at 1 pm, at Davidson Funeral Home, located at 121 N. Union Street, Delphi, IN, with Pastor Eddie Jones officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 11 until the time of the funeral. For friends and family unable to attend, funeral services will be livestreamed.
