Buddie “Bud” Lee Kesling, 99, of Camden, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at Franciscan Health in Lafayette. Buddie was born on June 2, 1927, in Walton, Indiana, to the late Kenneth and Doris (Sink) Kesling.
On June 12, 1948, Bud married “Dena” Scott Kesling, who preceded him in death on May 10, 1986. Bud later married Hazel Kesling on May 19, 1990. She preceded him in death on October 21, 2000.
Bud graduated from Camden High School and attended Butler University. He later went on to own and operate a Standard Oil bulk plant in Delphi. He later partnered with C&C Energy in Flora. Throughout the years Bud also helped out on the family farm.
In his free time Bud enjoyed coon hunting with his old buddy Joe Sullivan. He loved being outside and doing anything outdoors. He was an avid sports fan and especially loved rooting for IU basketball. Bud was also a 62 year Scottish Rite member of the Northern Masonic Jurisdiction.
Surviving Bud include a son; Randy (Teresa) Kesling, grandchildren; Heather Campbell, Matthew (Keturah) Kesling, Cole Kesling, great-grandchildren; Anika Campbell, Max Campbell, Joey Campbell, Lilly Campbell, Maddox Kesling, and a very special friend; Linda Barnard.
Buddie was preceded in death by his companion; Marcella Yerkes.
A funeral service honoring the life of Buddie will be held on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at 2:00 pm, located at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 282 W Cumberland St, Camden, IN 46917. Friends may visit with the family beginning at 11 am at the church. Burial will follow at Camden Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions honoring the life of Bud may be made out to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church. Envelopes will be provided.
