Carolyn J. (Barnes) Criswell

Carolyn J. (Barnes) Criswell, 75, of Idaville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at White Oak Health Campus in Monticello. Carolyn was born on December 25, 1948, to the late Henry and Bonita (Weaver) Barnes, in Monticello. On January 16, 1966, Carolyn married her loving husband, David Criswell, who preceded her in death on September 12, 2022.

Carolyn graduated from Twin Lakes High School in 1967. After graduation, Carolyn was employed at Rockland Flooring in Monon, where she was a saw operator for nearly 20 years.

In her free time Carolyn enjoyed mushroom hunting, fishing, camping, and spending as much time outdoors as she could. Her most cherished past time was spent with her family and grandchildren.

Carolyn is survived by daughter; Tina (Ken) Miller, sons; Jeffery (Reann) Criswell, Michael (Bethann) Criswell, sister; Sandra Barnes, 15 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding Carolyn in death include her husband of 56 years; David Criswell, brothers John Barnes, Paul Barnes, and sister; Judith Holmes.

A funeral service honoring the life of Carolyn will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at 1 pm, located at Davidson-Shirey Funeral Home, 121 North Union Street, Delphi, with Pastor Bob Duke officiating.  Friends may gather with the family from 11 am until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Davis Cemetery in Burnettsville.

Memorial contributions honoring the life of Carolyn may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
