Cheryl Ann (Stark) Powell, 77, of Brownsburg, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at IU Health West in Avon.
Born August 16, 1947, in Logansport, Indiana, Cheryl was the daughter of the late Homer and Lily May (Brackman) Stark. She was a 1966 graduate of Logansport High School.
Cheryl married the love of her life, William “Bill” Powell, and together they shared over 30 years of joyful marriage before his passing in 1999. Bill had a special way of making Cheryl feel cherished, often surprising her with her favorite flowers or handwritten notes. Their most treasured memories were made during family vacations to the beaches of Florida.
Throughout her life, Cheryl wore many hats, working at Franklin Elementary, Sears, and Area Five Agency on Aging and Community Services. She was also a trained florist, a passion that carried into her personal life. Cheryl found joy in creating beautiful floral arrangements, crafting, and volunteering. One of her greatest joys was fostering kittens through Creekside Animal Rescue.
Faith was central to Cheryl’s life. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Logansport and later joined Avon United Methodist Church, where she also enjoyed singing. Her faith was deep, and she loved sharing it with others.
Above all, Cheryl’s heart belonged to her family. She treasured time spent with them and took great pride in their lives and accomplishments.
Cheryl is survived by her loving daughter, Pamela (JT) Doane of Shelbyville; bonus children, Tina Morris of Littleton, CO, and Bill Powell of Logansport, IN; grandchildren, Madison Warden, Alec (Julie) Warden, Jennifer (Ryan) Horn, Brandon (Bri) Powell, and Amanda Powell; great-grandchildren, Kayli Helton, Andrew Helton, Emma Powell, and a baby Warden expected soon. Siblings, Steve Stark, Greg (Nilyn) Stark, Christine Brown. Many cherished nieces, nephews and cousins.
