Devota Ellen Uhrick, 56, of Delphi passed away at her residence on Thursday, May 5, 2022. She was born in St. Marys, Ohio to the late Clarence L. Uhrick and Edna Joanne (Thatcher) Uhrick. She attended Lake Alfred schools in Florida.
She attended CDC in Monticello, where she worked as a sorter.
She was a member of the Delphi United Methodist Church. She bowled in the Special Olympics and was a member of the Kiwanis Key Club.
Devota enjoyed doing puzzles, singing and dancing, playing with her baby dolls, coloring, looking at family pictures, and writing letters. She was an avid Purdue Boilermakers fan. She was also known for giving the best hugs and for her love of Jesus.
Survivors include her 2 sisters: Margaret Patterson of Delphi and Carole Tieman of Bluffton, Indiana; her guardian, Sherri Cripe of Delphi; nephew, Phillip Campbell of Berne, Indiana and nieces: Carol Daugherty of Liberty Center, Indiana, Nikole Gilbert and Denise Tieman of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; also 6 great-nephews and 1 great-great niece, several cousins and extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents and 2 sisters: Tammy Carter and Connie Campbell.
Services will be held on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Davidson Funeral Home in Delphi with Pastor Todd Ladd officiating. Visitation will be from Noon until the 2:00 PM service. Burial will be at IOOF Memorial Gardens in Delphi at a later date. Memorial contributions may be given to the family to be dispersed to various charities.
