Geneva "Betty" (Zanger) Allen

Geneva “Betty” (Zanger) Allen, 93, of Delphi, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 13, 2026, at Franciscan Health in Lafayette. Geneva was born on December 17, 1932, in Walton, Indiana, to the late Henry and Geneva (Hindman) Zanger.

On December 24, 1949, Betty married James W. Allen Sr., who preceded her in death on January 2, 1997.

Betty attended Logansport High School and later went on to work for Peters-Revington where she worked in the mill room for over 23 years until eventually retiring in January of 1995.

Betty was also a gifted seamstress in town for nearly 60 years where she made many friends. Betty was a devoted member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Delphi where she worked for many years, and enjoyed volunteering any chance she had. She was also a member of the Delphi VFW Post 9383, and the Alter and Rosary society. Her most cherished time spent was with her loving family and especially her grandchildren.

Betty is survived by her daughters; Linda (William) Weaver, Levata (Lenwood) Wilson, Debbie (Richard) Allen, Kathy Brooks, 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband; James Allen Sr., son; James Allen Jr., sister; Pauline Dailey, and a son-in-law; Bobby Brooks.

A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Betty will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at 11 am, located at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 207 N Washington St, Delphi, with Father Chris Miller the celebrant. Friends may visit with the family beginning at 9:30 am at the church. Burial will follow at IOOF Memorial Gardens in Pittsburg.
