Geraldine Mae (Wamsher) Tharp

Geraldine Mae Tharp, 94 of Delphi, passed away on Nov. 27, 2022 at St. Elizabeth Healthcare. Geraldine was born in Wolcott on June 6, 1928 to the late Gerald Smith and Frances (Sinks) Wamsher. She attended White County schools and earned her GED from Delphi.

She married Albert N. Tharp on Aug. 1, 1947 in Delphi and he preceded her in death on Feb. 28, 1989.

She had worked at Bryan’s Manufacturing in Monticello, the Delphi Greenhouse, Dairy Queen and at the Delphi Nursing Home.

Mrs. Tharp was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in West Lafayette.

She enjoyed Bible Study, sewing, doing puzzles and watching Purdue and the Colts play.

She is survived by daughters: Peggy Richie of Delphi and Linda Hood of Lafayette; sister, Mary Jane Tyra of Bringhurst; 13 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert; daughters: Imogene Daniel, Alberta Thompson, Debra Hardy; sisters: Doris Gray, Evelyn Tharp and Lois Ann Schub; brothers: Harold and Charles Wamsher.

Visitation will be at Davidson Funeral Home from 1:00 pm until the 2:00 pm funeral service on Nov. 30, 2022. Burial will follow in Morning Heights Cemetery, rural Delphi.

Memorial contributions in Geraldine’s memory may be made to the West Lafayette Seventh Day Adventist.
