Gladys E. Bundy “Glady” Murphy was born in Mishawaka, IN on January 3, 1943 and passed away on Oct. 18, 2021. She was the child of Martin A. Bundy and Gladys I. Teeples. Glady was a musical prodigy who began teaching the violin at the age of 14 and grew up to become a multi-instrumentalist. As an adult, she taught piano lessons and performed a variety of jobs including parts manager, crossing guard, police dispatcher. She was an organist of the Catholic Church for 30+ years serving as a faithful servant since 1983. Glady was the current organist and parishioner of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Delphi, IN. and oblate of St. Benedicts.
She was a member of the Grand Royal Page of Eastern Star and a past Grand Royal Matron of Order of the Amaranth. She loved her music and her Church.
Glady is survived by her daughter Gina Hemersbach (Murphy) and husband Joe Hemersbach, step daughter Kathleen A. Murphy and step son Austin C. Wasserott, four grandchildren - Mathew D. Tommie and wife Amy Tommie, Corey J. Grace and wife Brittany Barrett, Jerome Hemersbach, Meagan E. Griffy (Grace) and husband David A. Griffy, four great-grandchildren - Tess Barrett, Lilly and Isla Tommie, Joshua D. Griffy. Glady was preceded in death by her parents Martin and Glady Bundy, her spouse John A. Murphy, her brother John Robertson, sisters Jeanie Radman and Marcy Hetzel, niece Caroline Wickizer, and nephews Sgt. Paul Hetzel and Ron Hetzel.
Visitation will be at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Delphi from 9:30 am until the 11:00 am funeral mass on Monday, Oct. 25, 2021 with Father Clayton Thompson officiating. Burial will be at a later date at St. Bernard Abbey at Cullman, Alabama.
Memorial contributions in her memory may be made to the St. Bernard Abbey or the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Order of the Amaranth.
