Helen E. Rist

Helen E. Rist of Cutler passed away on Jan. 5, 2022 at her granddaughter’s home. Helen, 96 was born on Aug. 7, 1925 in Michigan City, Indiana to the late Edward and Lottie (Logan) Werner. She attended Michigan City Schools.

She married James R. Rist in Michigan City on Nov. 13, 1943 and he preceded her in death on Dec. 18, 1997. She was a homemaker.

Helen was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Red Hat Society and Tops. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, beadwork and polka dancing.

She is survived by her daughter, Jacqueline Leach (Dennis) of Cutler, brother, Edward Werner of Michigan City; granddaughters: Melissa Newman (Tim) of Bringhurst, Laura Roy of Lafayette and Brenda Lykins (Brandon) of Lafayette; 13 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by a brother, Harold and sister, Lillian.

Visitation will be at Davidson Funeral Home in Delphi from 1:00 until the 2:00 p.m. service on Saturday, Jan. 8, 2022. Burial will follow in Rossville Cemetery.
