James Bennie Whitus

James Bennie Whitus, 95 of Delphi “went fishing” on Feb. 20, 2022. He was born on April 5, 1926 to the late Ethel L. and Ruth M. (Foster) Whitus at Wadena, Indiana.

He was married to Louise E. Thurston and she preceded him in death in 2003.

He retired from Purdue University where he worked as a custodian.

He was a long-time member of the NRA and Bass Pro. He was an avid fisherman and hunter.

He is survived by his children: Terry J. Whitus of Delphi, David Whitus of Alabama, Juiquita Whitus of Americus, and Delores Linback of Lafayette; sister, Louise Weller of Fowler and several grandchildren.

Also preceding him in death were six siblings.

There will be no services at this time.
