Max E. Raines

Max E. Raines, 93, of Monticello, passed away peacefully at 7:40 am, September 12, 2023, at Monticello Health Care. Max was born to the late Roy and Della (Spear) Raines on July 2, 1930, in White County.

Max attended Chalmers High School, and went on to enlist in the Army during the Korean War. After returning home Max was a farmer in Tippecanoe County for nearly 20 years. After farming Max worked at the Delphi Street Department as an operator and eventually retiring.

In his free time Max enjoyed working in the yard, riding his motorcycle, and attending Elmwood Church of Christ.

Surviving Max are his two very close friends; Jason (Melissa) Lowry, and Dave (Lorraine) Weckerly.

Max was preceded in death by sisters; Elma Raines, Zelma Raines, and a brother; Dean Raines

A funeral service honoring the life of Max will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, September 16, 2023, at Davidson Funeral Home, located at 121 N. Union Street, Delphi, IN, with Deacon Dave Weckerly officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 11 am until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Chalmers Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Max’s memory to the Elmwood Church of Christ.
