Rex Alan Deweese

Rex Alan Deweese, 81, of Rossville, passed away at home on Monday, March 25, 2024, surrounded by his family. Rex was born July 12, 1942 to the late Russell and Avis (Shine) Deweese in Lafayette Indiana. On September 2, 1962, Rex married the love of his life Doreanne (Campbell) Deweese in Pyrmont Indiana, and she survives.

Rex is a proud graduate of the Brookston Bomber Class of 1960.

Rex had worked at Chrysler Transmission Plant in Kokomo for most of his career. Rex retired from Chrysler after devoting nearly 40 years of service as a proud UAW member. In his free time, Rex enjoyed landscaping and was an avid gardener. In his later years, Rex began doing genealogy on his family and he was able to track his genealogy back to the 16th century. Rex was a member of the Rossville Lions Club. His most cherished past time was spent with his family and friends.

Surviving Rex include his loving wife; Doreanne (Campbell) Deweese, children; Ryan (Brittany) Deweese, Ross (Linda) Deweese, Renee Simpson, brother; Ray Deweese, sister; Carol (Richard) Rowe, grandchildren; Mark Perry, Mackenzie (Taran) Kurtz, Benjamin Deweese, Allison Deweese, Kristin Deweese, Julianne Deweese, step- grandchildren; Jaren (Shantel) Evans, Kailey Evans.

A funeral service honoring the life of Rex will be held on Friday, March 29, 2024, at noon, at Davidson-Shirey Funeral Home, 121 N. Union Street, Delphi, with Pastor Lelan McReynolds officiating. Entombment will follow at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens in West-Lafayette. Friends may visit with the family from 10 am until the time of the service.
