Roger D. Cain

Roger D. Cain, 90, of Lafayette, passed away peacefully at 12:45 pm, on Monday September 4, 2023, at Mulberry Health. Roger was born to the late Clarence and Vera Marie (Seedorf) Cain, on January 12, 1933 in Tippecanoe County. On May 21, 1954, Roger married the love of his life Norma A. (Capper) Cain, who preceded him in death on April 9, 2022.

Roger graduated from Delphi High School and went on to study at Purdue University. Roger went on the serve in the Army for two years and achieved the National Defense Service Medal for his service and dedication. After retiring from the Army, Roger pursued a career at Eli Lilly, where he was a group leader for several years and eventually retiring.

In his free time Roger enjoyed to hunt for antiques, working in his orchid filled gardens, and woodworking. His most cherished hobby was spending time with his family.

Surviving Roger include his children; Rick (Susie) Cain, Robert Cain, Jeffrey (Sandy) Cain, sister; Kay Henry, 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.

Roger was preceded in death by his loving wife Norma, son; Randy (Cindy) Cain, and sisters; Deloris Wilson, and Marleen Cain.

A graveside service will be held on Friday September 8, 2023, starting at 10:00 am, at I.O.O.F Memorial Gardens in Pittsburg, In, with Pastor Bob Duke officiating. Military rites will be performed by the Delphi VFW, and members of the US Army. Memorial contributions may be made in Roger’s memory to St. Jude’s Children Hospital.
