Shirley Joann (Moore) Saltsman

Shirley Joann (Moore) Saltsman, 90, of Delphi, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at Mulberry Health. Shirley was born on February 4, 1936, in Carroll County, to the late Gordon and Eva (Beard) Moore.

Shirley graduated from Delphi High School. She later worked at Purdue University in the custodial department for several years before she eventually retired.

In her free time, she enjoyed tending to her garden. She enjoyed puzzles and she had a passion for all animals. Shirley attended the Sanctuary in Delphi. Her most cherished time spent was with her loving family, and especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter; Mary (Dwaine) Speer, grandchildren; Matthew (Erika) Speer, Adam Speer, Kristin (TJ) McCormick, great-grandchildren; Landen Rigney, Kayden Rigney, Kamden Rigney, and many nieces and nephews.

Shirley was preceded in death by her siblings; Charles Moore, Gordon Moore, Robert Moore, Virginia Cole, and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service honoring the life of Shirley will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at 12 noon, located at Shirey Funeral Home, 121 N Union St, Delphi. Friends may visit with the family beginning at 11 am. Burial will follow at Masonic Cemetery in Delphi.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions honoring the life of Shirley may be made out to either Caregiver Companion, or to the American Cancer Society. Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.
